Here is a list of the best events and weekend happenings in the Boston area that are free or wicked cheap. There are a lot of fun things to do in the city this weekend and I think the most expensive idea on this list is $10 per person!

48th Head of the Charles Regatta: Saturday & Sunday October 20 & 21, 2012 from 8am-5pm at the Charles River. The head of the Charles Regatta is the world’s largest two-day rowing event and has been a Boston tradition for 48 years! First Annual Faneuil Hall Street Theater Festival: Saturday & Sunday, October 20 & 21, 2012 from 11am-7pm at Faneuil Hall. On a regular weekend at Faneuil Hall, the marketplace is buzzing with amazing street performers so the first annual street theater with street performers from all over the world can’t be missed! For more information about the event, please click here. Boston Classical Orchestra: Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at 3pm at Faneuil Hall. The Boston Children’s Chorus will be singing classical songs at Faneuil Hall this weekend. More information can be found here. Free.

National Cranberry Festival in Carver, MA: Saturday & Sunday, October 20th & 21st, 2012 from 10am-5pm at Edaville USA in Carver, Massachusetts. All aboard for this fun 2-day cranberry festival in Carver with unlimited train rides, live musical entertainment, an harvest marketplace, and much more. AMC Theatres: Seven Psychopaths: Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at participating AMC Theatre Nationwide. If you’d rather stick to the indoors tomorrow and see a movie, the Seven Psychopaths movie has a special deal for Saturday. Rock the Plaza Presents Three Day Grace. Saturday, October 20th, 2012 from 6-7pm at Patriot Place in Foxborough, MA. Check out Canadian rock act band perform on Saturday night. With over 6 million facebook fans, they must be good! For more information, please click here. Free.

Fort Point Arts Open Studio: Saturday & Sunday, October 20th & October 21st, 2012 from 12pm-6pm and Friday, October 19th, 2012 from 4-7pm in South Boston. Twice a year, Fort Point artists open their studio to show off their artwork to the public! You can view all their pieces for free and many of the artwork is for sale as well. Haunted Happenings Movie Series Featuring Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory: Saturday, October 20th, 2012 starting at 6:30pm on Salem Common in Salem, Massachusetts. What better place to watch a haunted movie than in Salem, Massachusetts?! Although, I’m not sure how scary Willy Wonka actually is, but it will be a great and cheap outing on Salem Commons! Casting Call for Dwayne Johnson’s Reality Show: Saturday, October 20th, 2012 from 10am-4pm at Jillian’s on Lansdown Street. “The Rock” is looking for adventurous people to compete in a new adventure reality show and they are not necessarily looking for the most fit!
