tax dayAs April 15th nears, residents across the state often stress to get both state and federal income taxes filed. But it’s time to breathe a small sigh of relief, as Governor Charlie Baker has officially extended the deadline to July 15th,

The new deadline applies to both filing and paying taxes owed. This move follows last weeks announcement by US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin to move the federal tax day to July 15th.

“In partnership with our colleagues in the Legislature,” Baker said in a statement. “We are committed to providing this flexibility to taxpayers in a way that protects the Commonwealth’s strong fiscal footing that we have all worked hard to develop over the past several years.”
