It seems like we’ve been waiting and waiting to hear confirmation, but legislators did approve Mass Tax Free weekend, which will be Saturday, August 11th & Sunday, August 12th for 2012! Keep in mind that the 6.25 tax break will not apply to every purchase, so before you buy that $10,000 dream boat, make sure you do your research. Motor vehicles, boats, meals, gas, tobacco products, etc. will not be tax-exempt. Most items for personal use will be exempt up to $2,500 for a single item, not total purchase. Excellent timing for me since we are gutting our new kitchen! Hello tax-free fridge, stove & dishwasher! What shopping are you doing next weekend!? (Or pre-shopping and then ordering via phone or online to avoid the crowds?)
