Who doesn’t love giveaways?!?!
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for reading Boston on Budget whether it’s been for awhile or one day!
I am giving away $500 in Free Lyft Credit to new and EXISTING users! If you are not familiar with ridesharing app Lyft, please read this previous post here.
If you are a new user, you can receive a free $10 credit by downloading the app and entering promo code BOSBUDGET which can be found under the payment tab.
Both new and existing users can enter the giveaway below for even more Lyft credit and there’s a few different ways to win!
You can choose which category you want to enter in and you can enter in 1, 2, 3 or all 4 categories, but you can only enter once in each. (So you can’t comment multiples times on the blog, but you can certainly comment and follow me on Instagram, for example).
- Leave a comment below with a money saving goal for the new year or something you’d like to do in Boston this year! 10 readers will receive 2) $10 credit in free rides!
- Subscribe to Boston on Budget’s Daily Newsletter (if you are already subscribe, you are already entered!) Two subscribers will win 5) $10 credit in free rides! ($100)
- Follow me on Instagram (I’m new and still figuring it out, so pardon the mess!) One subscriber will win 5) $10 credit in free rides! ($50)
- Follow Boston on Budget on Twitter (if you don’t already) and use #BostonOnABudget and share a budget-friendly tip! Three people will win 5) $10 credit in free rides ($150)
The giveaway ends on Wednesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:59 PM EST. Open to Legal Residents (18 years of age or older) of the US only. Winners will be randomly selected and notified by e-mail with 48 hours. Winners will then have 48 hours to respond before a new winner is selected. Winners will be asked to supply their phone number linked to their Lyft account to receive the credit, but I will not sell or share your contact information.
All thoughts and opinions of Lyft are my own. I do get compensated if you are a new user and decide to sign up for an account through my referral link. However, purchase or sign-up is not necessary to enter this giveaway, but you will need to supply a Lyft account to receive the Lyft credit.
If you currently have the Lyft app, this is a great way to receive free credit during the cold winter months! Lyft is a great and affordable way to get around the city without taking public transportation and it is always nice to have credit in your account for rainy (or snowy!) days.
Have you used Lyft before?
Good luck!

I want to spend more time at museums in Boston – ICA and MFA!
This year, I want to ice skate on frog pond!
I’m going to start planning my meals before I go to the grocery store. This way I know what I need to buy and I won’t just throw things into my cart because they look good or I think I will use them in a recipe that week. This will save me A LOT of money on groceries in 2015!
I’m going to plan out my weekly dinners and cook on Sunday so that I have everything ready when I’m home, and don’t fall into the trap of picking up take-out on my walk back from work.
I am trying to save more money each week for bigger expenses, like travel, utilities, etc.
Love lyft! I’m working on budgeting! 2015 is the year of savings!!!! Savings now, insanity later 🙂
I’d like to go sailing on the charles! in summer of course.

I’m aiming to avoid eating out at lunch, both to save money (to spend on traveling!), and to improve my health. 🙂
As a new grad student, I am definitely making the transition to a more budget-conscious life! One way I’m saving money is ordering water if I’m out with friends for a meal, and spending the extra 30 minutes on the T for long commutes.
One Boston staple I’ve yet to see is the Boston Ballet! It’s on my list.
I really need to start meal planning and bringing my lunch to work. Thanks for hosting!
I want to go on more brewery tours.
One thing I’d like to do this summer is get married at South End’s Cinquecento…and I will! June 2015!!
Awesome!! Congrats!! 🙂
I really want to check out the MFA museum as well as the Aquarium!
This year I plan on cooking more at home, so that I don’t have to spend as much money going out to eat.
My favorite cheap entertainment that I would like to do more of this year is just hang out in the Boston Common and people watch! I also want to go on the Sam Adams and Harpoon brewery tours.
OK, my new apt is in Watertown. NO “T” in sight! Need an ingeniuos and EASY way to get to Longwood from Watertown! ( By Bus it is MORE than 1 hour! Yikes!) Hope LYFT will solve my anguish and problem economically both money and time-wise!
This year I’m taking the “52 Week Challenge” to save money so I can take myself to Paris without having to dip into my savings account.
I’m going to start saving more money in my 401K pre-tax! If I don’t see it, I don’t want to spend it.
Do I need to comment to let you know about twitter or instagram entries?
You’re all set! 🙂
I want to save money by finding fun things to do in Boston for free during the winter!
My goal for 2015 will be mastering the art of cheap happy hour eats (pour house, bar louie, mccormack and schmicks)!
I want to cook more in my house, to save money to go to Southeast Asia in June, I need to spend the less money possible. Uber and lyft help too.
I want to spent less money at bars
I have a goal of saving an extra $5000 this year.
I am a huge bargain shopper, and love coming not Boston on a budget everyday for tips. One of my favorite ways to save money was to use the app “socii” and other apps like it to get free food just for promoting them. I am a college student with very little money, so that was a great way for me to get many many free meals at different places (:
