looped in

Every Friday, I feature a fun and budget-friendly option in the Greater Boston area. The “Feature Friday” is typically mentioned on the Cheap Eats list, Free Things to Do in Boston, or Discount Attractions. However, there’s so much budget-friendly ideas on my pages, I thought it would be fun to feature something budget-friendly and different each week. Also, each Feature Friday is something I have personal experience with or took advantage of recently! Enjoy!

Are you familiar with the mobile app looped in? Looped in allows you to pay at your favorite restaurant and more with your smartphone. You can also discover new places as well as find great deals on the app!

I went to Blackjack Pasta Bar for some pasta because they accept payment through looped in and they had a deal for 10% off when you pay with the app.

To find a participating location with a deal, hit the deals icon on the app and look for the ones with the little price tag icons to the left. You can also find a participating restaurant or retailer near you on the map feature. The majority of participating locations are in Fenway, Cambridge and Brighton at the moment.

When I used the app, it worked a little differently than I thought it would. I thought I would hit the pay button and they would scan the app or something along those lines. Instead, they asked for my phone number (which I used to open my account) and then sent me a payment and I accepted via my app right on the spot. Pretty simple.

Also, if you load $10 to looped in, you will receive $5 to your account for every month you add $10 or more. Also, every time you spend $5 or more using looped in, you will receive $2 in your account (which I saw automatically added to my account). This is a great way to stretch your money a little further, especially if you use looped in for a deal!

Looped in also announces a new merchant every Monday and a weekend deal every Friday, so make sure to look for those in the future!
