Every Friday, I feature a fun and budget-friendly option in the Greater Boston area. The “Feature Friday” is typically mentioned on the Cheap Eats list, Free Things to Do in Boston, or Discount Attractions. However, there’s so much budget-friendly ideas on my pages, I thought it would be fun to feature something budget-friendly and different each week. Also, each Feature Friday is something I have personal experience with or took advantage of recently! Enjoy!
Every morning a magical tweet like this appears on my twitter feed like this:
Today’s FREE (not-on-menu) flavor is #DCCupcakes CHOC MARSHMALLOW GANACHE! Order it by name & it’s FREE! 100/location, 1/customer! Enjoy!

Yep, the first 100 people that enter Georgetown Cupcake and say the secret code name found on Twitter can get a completely free cupcake, no strings attached.
I went one day last week before noon and said the magic words and was handed this cute little bag instantly:
The content inside was pretty delicious and extra tasty since it was free!
If you do want to score a free cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake located on 83 Newbury Street, you may want to go on the early side since there’s only 100 per location per day.
After I grabbed my cupcake and was standing outside, two young boys ran inside and grabbed their free cupcakes quicker than I grabbed my phone out of my bag. Clearly it wasn’t their first free cupcake, haha.
Do you follow Georgetown Cupcake on Twitter? Have you been able to get a free cupcake when you’ve stopped in?
