Free Things to Do this Weekend in BostonThere’s so many fun and cheap things to do this weekend in Boston and beyond. Since this is a little unusual week with the holiday, I’ve included a few Friday events in this week’s cheap weekend fun.

Free Fun Fridays: Friday, July 6, 2018. Enjoy free admission to Boston Children’s Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Battleship Cove, Amelia Park Children’s Museum, Gore Place, Falmouth Museum on the Green, Hancock Shaker Village, Pilgrim Hall Museum, and the New England Quilt Museum.

The Lawn on D Summer Block Party: Saturday, July 7, 2018 at The Lawn on D in South Boston. Enjoy this popular festival with live entertainment, rock climbing wall, bubble soccer, and much more!

JP Porchfest: July 7, 2018 from 12-6pm. Head to the porches of local musicians in Jamaica Plain for a day of free music and fun!

Chinatown Main Street Festival: Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 10-6PM. Head to Chinatown for this festive event with a lion dance, arts & crafts, food vendors, and more. Free.

Red Sox Showcase: Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12-2PM at Faneuil Hall. The Red Sox Showcase is bringing baseball to Faneuil Hall with a batting cage, pitching stations, and more!

Tango in the Park: Every Saturday in July & August from 6:30-9:30PM at Rose Greenway Conservancy (across from Boston Harbor Hotel). Enjoy, dance, and delight in the magic of the Tango in the Park with free beginner lessons at 7:30PM.

Summer in the City Movie Night: Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Enjoy a free screening of Field of Dreams at dusk in the courtyard of the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Magic 106.7 Family Film Festival: Every Saturday from July 7-August 25, 2018 starting at 6PM. Enjoy a free movie under the stars in the courtyard of the Prudential Center with a free screening of The Lion King starting at dusk.

Movies in the Park: Every Saturday from July 7-August 25, 2018 at Sylvester Baxter Park in Somerville. Head to Assembly Row for a free outdoor movie with a free screening of Despicable Me 3 starting at dusk.

SoWa Open Market: Every Sunday May to October from 10-4pm. Enjoy this award-winning open market with local artisans, farmers, musicians, food trucks, and more!

Greenway Open Market: Every Saturday (and 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month) from 11-6pm until October. Enjoy handmade local arts and crafts, food trucks, and more!

Harvard Art Museum: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Saturday morning from 10am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Harvard Museum of Natural History: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency
