Free Weekend Events in BostonIt’s the last weekend of January and here’s some fun and inexpensive things to do this weekend in the area:

9th Annual Harvard Square Chocolate Festival: January 27-29, 2017. Harvard Square establishments are celebrating all things chocolate this weekend with free chocolate treats and specials!

Meet Zdeno Chara: January 28, 2017 at Jim Roche Community Arena in West Roxbury. Meet Zdeno Chara from the Boston Bruins on Saturday in celebration of Verizon Fios coming to town!

Wicked Wine Fest: January 28, 2017 at Boston Center for the Arts. Sample a variety of wines and fight the winter blues at this Wicked Wine Fest. Tickets are$69 but free and discount tickets are available via Goldstar Boston (affiliate link). *There’s also discount tickets available for the Craft Beer Winter Fest on Sunday at the same location, but the comp tickets are no longer available.

Sean Donnelly at Laugh Boston: January 26-28, 2017 at Laugh Boston. Check out blue-collar comedian Sean Donnelly at Laugh Boston this weekend with comp tickets available via Goldstar Boston (affiliate link).

MIT Museum: Free admission at the MIT Museum in Cambridge the last Sunday of each month, September to June.

Harvard Art Museums: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Saturday morning from 10am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Harvard Museum of Natural History: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Pokeworks is opening in Somerville on Saturday and will be offering buy one, get one free on 1/28/17 for their grand opening if anyone is interested.

Also, you can ski for free this weekend from bus company Skedaddle when you grab a ride (starting at $49/rt) from Boston with them this weekend.
