It is the second to last weekend of August… Here are a few ways to have fun without spending too much this weekend in Boston and Beyond with some fun events and more!
Saint Anthony’s Feast: August 23-25, 2013 in the North End (Endicott, Thacher & North Streets). Voted by Boston’s A-List as the Best Festival in the Boston area for 2013 and is an annual celebration in the North End. Free.
Harvard Square Think PINK Party: Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 2-4pm on Winthrop Street in Cambridge. The Harvard Square Business Association is raising Breast Care Awareness on Saturday with live music, delicious food, and more. There are also several businesses that will donate a portion of sales to the cause when you purchase certain pink items and more.
Free Folk Dancing: Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 8-10pm at the Holyoke Center in Cambridge. Get moving to the music with free basic instruction on Saturday night.
Magic 106.7 Family Film Festival: Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Prudential Center South Garden at sunset. Enjoy a free showing of Hoodwinked on the South Garden at the Prudential Center at sunset. (Last one of the summer!)
MLB Free Umpire Camp: Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Roberto Clemente Field in Boston. Major League Baseball is hosting a free umpire camp and serve as a tryout for interested participants to advance to the annual weeklong umpire camp in California.
East Boston Biking Connections: Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 4-6pm starting at Bremen Street Park. If your wondering where East Boston Greenway is heading next, join BNAN for a bike ride that ends at Piers Park. Helmets required.
The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series at the ICA is back again this year on Sunday, 8/25/13 at 1pm; however, for the first time this is a (free) ticketed event and tickets did sell out quickly. However, I’m sure you can walk slowly nearby to catch a few dives or maybe catch a few practice dives the day before. (Good tips on this Reddit Thread).
Also, on Sunday, 8/25/13 is Go Topless Day in Boston starting at 2pm at Boston Common… just a FYI.
And don’t forget… Boston Restaurant Week is currently in full-swing and ends towards the end of the week on Friday, August 3oth! Hope you have a great weekend!
