Cheap Weekend Fun

Happy first weekend of 2014! What are you doing this weekend? I am traveling for a belated Christmas party on Friday, and hopefully the weather won’t cancel or delay my trip too much! However, if you are hoping for an extended weekend thanks to Mother Nature, I’ll cross my fingers for you 🙂

Here’s a few ideas of fun and budget-friendly events in the Greater Boston Area:

Enchanted Village: Last chance! November 16, 2013-January 5, 2014 at Jordan’s Furniture in Avon. The Enchanted Village is up and running for the season so come relive childhood memories! Free.

Harvard Museum of Natural History: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency.

Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Bank of America’s Museum on Us Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, January 4-5, 2014. Bank of America & Merrill Lynch cardholders can get into select museums the first weekend of every month for free by showing their bank card (per cardholder, not family). Museum of Fine Arts, MIT Museum and other museums across the state participate.

Free Admission for Kids at Zoo New England: Saturday and Sunday, January 4-5 2014. Kids can get free admission (with a paid adult) at both Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo for the first weekend of 2014!
