This year’s Pandemic Passover will certainly be different, to say the least. The holiday, beginning on April 8th this year, will not only have fewer family members, but food will vary depending on your local grocery stores. Regardless of how big your Seder will be, below are some options of how to make the best of your holiday.

A Coolidge Corner staple, Zaftigs is offering a Passover catering and Dinner for Two menu (two nights for one) for $49.50, which includes caroset, chopped chicken liver, two potato pancakes, one quart chicken matzo ball soup, brisket, mashed potatoes, honey glazed arrots and coconut macaroons. However, don’t wait to place your order – orders must be placed by Friday, April 3rd to be guaranteed for Passover.
You can purchase delicious baked Passover menu products for your Seder including chocolate caramel matzoh crunch for pickup at the Brighton location of Athan’s Bakery.
Other Spots to Shop/Order Online
This Brookline grocery is one of Boston’s biggest kosher market. The grocery store is offering home delivery and curbside pickup via the Butcherie app, and a special senior shopping time from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Wednesdays. More importantly, the store has extended its hours until 2 a.m. just a couple of days a week to accommodate Passover shoppers.
No meal will be complete without sweets from Cambridge’s EH Chocolatier. Can’t pick one? Go for the Passover Gift Box ($55) which has a little bit of everything, including dark chocolate matzoh bark, toffee almond matzoh, and macaroon. Beginning on 3/30 pick-up hours are Monday – Wednesday 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. only. One thing to note, they are closed Thursday – Sunday.
Make sure to place your order by April 6th to secure your Passover-themed box! The box includes ?a one-pound tin of fudgy brownies, four large coconut macaroons (plain or chocolate), a small sponge cake and a half-pound of matzah crunch for $30, plus the cost of shipping. You can size-up and get the large box (which is two of everything) for $55. To note, the bakery is “Passover Friendly.”
