Tonight is Boston’s 71st Annual Tree Lighting in Boston Common from 6-8pm. There will be so many holiday decorations to enjoy throughout Boston Common and Public Garden including the 45-foot white spruce Christmas Tree all the way from Nova Scotia that will be lit tonight for the first time this season!

Also, Elliott Yamin from American Idol and Wakefield native James Massone of the Voice will be performing live as well as the Nova Scotia Band, The Boston Arts Academy, and even the Grinch will make a visit tonight.

If you can’t make the tree lighting, you can also tune into WCVB (Channel 5) tonight starting at 7pm to watch the excitement!

This event is free and open to the public. If you get out of work or arrive a little earlier, you watch the Pre-Show Skating Spectacular starting at 5pm on frog pond which is also free! A great way to get into the holiday spirit!
