2nd Annual Canine Promenade: Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Charles River Esplanade. Registration is at 10:45am and parade march starts at 11am. Halloween Happenings 2012 For Families!

I mentioned all the Halloween Happenings for Kids in the Boston area already, but now let’s talk about families! Here are family friendly halloween events happening this week and next!

For the Family

Haunted Happenings: Daily in Salem, Massachusetts. There is a little bit of everything happening in Salem every day. Cost varies, but there are many free and fun options. To find a list of all the haunted happenings in Salem, please click here.

Pru Boo: Sunday, October 28th at the Prudential Center in Boston from 11am-1pm. Trick-or-Treat for charity throuhout the Prudential Center as well as enjoy pumpkin decorating, face painting, magician, a kids concert and more! $4 donation to Room to Grow. For more information, please visit here.

2012 Halloween Boo Bash: Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA from 12-3pm. Bring the kiddos (costumes encouraged) for face painting, balloon animals, Halloween photos and Halloween tunes. For more information, please click here.

Pumpkin Pageant: Thursday, October 25, 2012 from noon to 4pm at the Boston Children’s Museum Harborwalk. Free pumpkin carving for kids and adults and vote for your favorite pumpkin from local Boston Businesses. For more information, please visit here.

Halloween Happenings 2012 in and around Boston

Happy (early) Halloween! In honor of Halloween, I’ve compiled the scariest, frightening, and most fun Halloween Happenings and Events in the greater Boston area on Halloween and leading up to the day! Halloween Photos & Trick-or-Treating: Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Square One Mall in Saugus from 2-8pm for Photos and 2-4pm for Trick-or-Treating. $1 donation for trick-or-treating. For more information, please click here.

Halloween at Patriots Place: Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Patriots Place in Foxborough starting at 2pm. All trick-or-treaters will receive a free trick-or-treating bag but candy is on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, please click here.

Mall-Wide Halloween Trick-or-Treat at the Arsenal Mall: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Arsenal Mall in Watertown from 4-6pm. Bring the kiddos in costume for trick-or-treating at the Arsenal mall to grab candy from different retailers! For more information, please visit here.

Halloween at the Hanover Mall: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 starting at 3pm at the Hanover Mall. Between 3-5pm kiddos can trick-or-treat around the Mall, but after they are done, stop by Uno’s Chicago Grill with the kids in Costume to make their own FREE pizza! Fun! Fall Festival at the Silver City Galleria in Taunton, MA: Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 1-5pm (trick-or treating from 3-5pm) at the Silver City Galleria in Taunton. Weekend Happenings: October 20th & 21st, 2012 in the Boston Area

 

Here is a list of the best events and weekend happenings in the Boston area that are free or wicked cheap. There are a lot of fun things to do in the city this weekend and I think the most expensive idea on this list is $10 per person!

48th Head of the Charles Regatta: Saturday & Sunday October 20 & 21, 2012 from 8am-5pm at the Charles River. The head of the Charles Regatta is the world’s largest two-day rowing event and has been a Boston tradition for 48 years! First Annual Faneuil Hall Street Theater Festival: Saturday & Sunday, October 20 & 21, 2012 from 11am-7pm at Faneuil Hall. On a regular weekend at Faneuil Hall, the marketplace is buzzing with amazing street performers so the first annual street theater with street performers from all over the world can’t be missed! For more information about the event, please click here. Boston Classical Orchestra: Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at 3pm at Faneuil Hall. The Boston Children’s Chorus will be singing classical songs at Faneuil Hall this weekend. More information can be found here. Free.

National Cranberry Festival in Carver, MA: Saturday & Sunday, October 20th & 21st, 2012 from 10am-5pm at Edaville USA in Carver, Massachusetts. All aboard for this fun 2-day cranberry festival in Carver with unlimited train rides, live musical entertainment, an harvest marketplace, and much more. AMC Theatres: Seven Psychopaths: Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at participating AMC Theatre Nationwide. What better place to watch a haunted movie than in Salem, Massachusetts?! Although, I’m not sure how scary Willy Wonka actually is, but it will be a great and cheap outing on Salem Commons!
