Lunar New Year Celebration at the MFA: Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Museum of Fine Arts. Head to the MFA on Saturday for FREE admission for Lunar New Year!

Boston Globe Travel Show: February 9-11, 2018 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. Head to this annual travel show to learn about fun places to travel too, enjoy cultural performances, and get great travel deals! Tickets are $10 online and $15 on-site but free and discount tickets may be available.

Berklee High School Jazz Festival: Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Hynes Convention Center. Berklee College of Music is hosting their annual high school jazz festival and is free and open to the public!

Mass Ave Mardi Gras: February 10, 2018 at Dorchester Brewing Company. Celebrate Mardi Gras with Dorchester Brewing Company a little early with classic food, music, costumes and more!

Museum of Fine Arts, MIT Museum and other museums across the state participate

Kid Price Saturday at Zoo New England: Pay and feel like a kid the first Saturday of this month at Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo where everyone pays kids price for admission until noon!

Grand Opening Weekend at The Discovery Museum + Giveaway

The Discovery Museum in Acton, Massachusetts is opening their doors to an all-new museum in March!

After an expansion and complete renovation, the Discovery Museum is opening their doors to the community for a grand opening celebration the weekend of March 3-4, 2018 from 9-4:30 PM each day. Children 12 and under are free all weekend as a thank you to the community.

The Discovery Museum is roughly 25 miles north west of Boston in Acton, Massachusetts and a great museum for kids!

Admission to the Discovery Museum is $12.50 for adults and children, and children under 1 are free. Teachers are always free to the Discovery Museum as well as military members and family members up to 4 people. There are also library passes available for half off admission at certain libraries and EBT and WIC cardholders in Massachusetts can receive admission for $1 for up to 5 additional family members.

Also, the first Friday night of each month during the school year (except September) and every Friday night during the summer (beginning late June) is open for free from 4:30 to 8:00pm. The Discovery Museum will gratefully accept non-perishable food donations for local food pantries.

Okay– so I’m not seeing too many free festivals and events for this weekend, but I’m also away this week so I didn’t look too hard either. Please let me know in the comments below if I missed anything.

Luckily, there will be some fun happening at Gillette Stadium (and TV screens everywhere) on Sunday.

Also, il Molo in the North End will have a $1 game time menu if you are looking for somewhere to watch the game with some cheap eats.

Snowflake Festival and Open House: Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Brookline Arts Center from 1-3PM. Enjoy a day of free creative family fun with artwork and activities for all ages!
