Shaws Gift Card Promotion until Thursday, 11/29/12

I wanted to share this gift card promotion for those Shaw’s and Christmas shoppers! Shaw’s Supermarkets is offering a deal when you spend $100 on select gift cards, you will receive $20 back in groceries! I did this promotion yesterday (bought 2 $50 gift cards) and it worked. You must buy the gift cards on the list above, and these may vary from store. You can pick up a sale circular at your local store or look at the sign at the gift card booth to know which ones to choose from.

At my store you could grab gift cards to: Bass Pro Shops, AMC Theatres, Applebees, Brinker Restaurants (Maggianos/Chilis, etc), Groupon, iTunes, Macy’s, Sears, Regal Cinemas, Lowes & Kohls. Spend $100 or more with any combination of these 11 gift cards, and you will receive $20 free money to Shaws for your next purchase.

This is a great deal if you are going to buy gift cards for Christmas presents or are going to shop at any of these stores soon, because you will receive $20 free money to spend at Shaw’s or Star Market. You do need to spend the $20 Catalina within a short time frame (I think mine is by November 30th), but this great if you need to buy some groceries! Buy your gift cards first and then do some food shopping! :)

Black Friday Store Openings in Massachusetts

Hehe, I love this!

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you have a chance to relax with family and friends over a delicious meal!

As you probably know, Massachusetts has blue laws that prohibit Massachusetts retail employees from opening and working on Thanksgiving. If you have seen ads for different stores advertising opening at 8 p.m. on Thursday night, those are national ads and do not apply to Massachusetts (but do apply to NH).

Here’s a quick list of some major retailers store opening times in Massachuetts for Black Friday, but it also doesn’t hurt to call your local store as well, as they may change from store to store, but here is what I found:

Walmart: 1:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012 (select stores 5AM)

Target Corp: 1:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

Best Buy: 1:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

Kmart: 5:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

Kohls: 1:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

Toys”R”Us: 1 AM for Dedham & I called Medford too and they said 8 AM… so you may want to call on this one, if your heading that way, just in case.

Wrenthem Village Outlets: 12:01 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

Shops at Prudential Mal & Copley Placel: 9 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012 with a few exceptions (B&N and Saks opening at 8 AM)

CambrideSide Galleria: 12:00 AM on Friday, 11/23/12 for select stores like Best Buy, Bath & Body Works, Children’s Place, Express, H&M, Macy’s, and more. To see all store openings for the Galleria, click here.

Mall at Chestnut Hill: 9 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

Square One Mall in Saugus: 12:30 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

South Shore Plaza in Braintree: 12:30 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012

I called all the chains closest to Downtown Boston for the opening times, so if you are further out of the city, you may want to call your local store to doublecheck before arriving way too early or way to late!

Happy Shopping & Happy Holidays!! Best of Luck if you are participating in Black Friday this year!!

Free Tolls and Free Coffee for Massachusetts Thanksgiving Commuters!

Plymouth Rock Assurance will be sponsoring free tolls during peak time tomorrow November 21, 2012 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Allston Brighton interchange on I-90.

If you don’t want to travel during the heaviest time to save $1 in tolls, you can also grab free coffee! To promote safe driving, all 17 MassDOT service plazas will be giving free coffee starting at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving night (11/22/12) until 5 a.m. on Friday morning.

Half Off Admission at Franklin Park Zoo on Friday, 11/23/12!

Are you look for something fun and cheap to do on Black Friday that does not involve over-crowded parking lots, long-lines, and early morning doorbusters, but are still looking for a bargain?!

Franklin Park Zoo in Dorchester is offering half-off admission all day on Friday, November 23th! Adults are normally $17 so just $8.50 on Black Friday and kids ages 2-12 would be $5.50!

Free 4-week Boston Globe Subscription Still Available from JetBlue!

My free Boston Globe that arrived on my doorstep today!

I retweeted this offer the other day when I first heard about it, but wanted to mention this again since it’s still available. Receive a free 4-week subscription to The Boston Globe Thursday-Sunday exclusively from JetBlue. You just need to fill out a quick form that doesn’t require a credit card or billing information!

I signed up on Thursday and already received my first newspaper yesterday, and then again today! This offer is only available for households that have not received the Globe in 90 days, which is us since we recently moved :) The only downside (for couponers) is that I didn’t receive the one smart source insert in the paper, but I did get most other sale circulars. However, it will be a nice bonus if I do receive them in the upcoming weeks!

Did you already grab your free 4-week Globe subscription and did you receive the coupon insert? Let me know!
