Laugh Boston Comedy Club Discount Tickets

Every Friday, I feature a fun and budget-friendly option in the Greater Boston area. The “Feature Friday” is typically mentioned on the Cheap Eats list, Free Things to Do in Boston, or Discount Attractions. However, there’s so much budget-friendly ideas on my pages, I thought it would be fun to feature something budget-friendly and different each week. Also, each Feature Friday is something I have personal experience with or took advantage of recently! Enjoy!

Last night I checked out Boston’s newest comedy club: Laugh Boston. Laugh Boston is a 300-seat comedy theatre located inside the Westin Waterfront Hotel at 425 Summer Street in Boston.

I saw Brent Morin from NBC’s newest sitcom Undateable and he was really funny. There were two comedians on the ticket who opened for him, but there was also a surprise comedian so I saw four comedians in total for 90 minutes. All the comedians were really good.

(As a side note, I went to the free Comedy Central’s taping a few months back and all the comedians were better at Laugh Boston, in my opinion. Although I am sure this can vary on comedians seen and personal preference.)

Tickets for Laugh Boston vary depending on the show and night of the week. The full price tickets at Laugh Boston were $20 for standard and $30 for premium seats, although I do not know the difference between the two.

I know I talk about Goldstar Boston a lot on Boston on Budget as a great resource for discount event tickets and discount attractions in Boston, but I wanted to take advantage of Goldstar Boston myself to get discount tickets to Laugh Boston and share my experience with you.

Goldstar Boston often has complimentary tickets to various events including discount tickets to Laugh Boston on occasion. A week ago, while I was actually watching NBC’s pilot of Undateable, I was browsing through Goldstar Boston upcoming events. I noticed complimentary tickets to see Brent Morin at Laugh Boston for both Thursday and Friday night.

Goldstar Boston is free to use but you do need to signup for a free account to get more details about events. Goldstar does have a separate Red Velvet membership which is not free, but if you are not an avid Goldstar user and event attendee, the free account is great.

You do need a free account to browse event details, but you can view events and availability from my half-price tix tab if you want to browse without signing up first. If you do decide to purchase tickets or snag free tickets, you do need to pay a service fee on all Goldstar tickets.

The comedy tickets were free, but I did need to pay a $6 service fee per ticket. I had a date night with my husband and ended up paying $12 total for tickets. There was also food and drink available at Laugh Boston, and we opted for beverages at the bar first. My husband’s beer was $7 and my cocktail was $10.

Seating and terms vary for each event venue when you purchase tickets through Goldstar, but there were no assign seats on the tickets at Laugh Boston. We arrived a little early to pick up our Goldstar tickets at the counter. There was no wait and we just needed to give our name and our tickets were waiting for us in an envelope. We then showed our tickets inside and was seated up front at a table.

I highly recommend checking out Laugh Boston and grabbing discount/free tickets through Goldstar Boston if you can. I did look before we left and there were still complimentary tickets available for our show, but sometimes complimentary tickets do tend to go in advance.

I would definitely do this again for a fun (and cheap) night out with friends, a bachelorette party or another date night. We were asked for our ID at the door, but you do not have to be 21+ to attend Laugh Boston. (You just can’t drink, obviously.)

There are still complimentary tickets left to see Brent Morin tonight (with $7 service fee) and other free comedy show tickets at Laugh Boston for future dates if you are interested.

Have you been to Laugh Boston before? Have you purchased discount tickets to Goldstar Boston before?
