Feature Friday: Discount Movie Tickets with AAA Card

FF AAA Movie Tickets
Every Friday, I feature a fun and budget-friendly option in the Greater Boston area. The “Feature Friday” is typically mentioned on the Cheap Eats list, Free Things to Do in Boston, or Discount Attractions. However, there’s so much budget-friendly ideas on my pages, I thought it would be fun to feature something budget-friendly and different each week. Also, each Feature Friday is something I have personal experience with or took advantage of recently! Enjoy!

If you are a AAA member, you can receive plenty of cool discounts on attractions, hotels, and more. However, one perk that I like to take advantage of is discount movie tickets.

Simply stop into your nearest AAA branch and ask to purchase movie tickets. Typically they come in packs of 4 for a discounted rate and varies depending on the company. For example, 4 movie tickets for AMC Theatres purchased with your AAA card will cost $33, which breaks down to $8.25 per ticket.

If you went to AMC Loews Movie Theatre, expect to pay around $12.50 a ticket. This will save you $4.25 per movie ticket, which definitely adds up if you like to go to the movies.

This is a great perk for AAA members. If you are not a AAA member ask your work or local organization if they offer discount movie tickets. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Do you have any tips for saving at the movies? Do you prefer waiting for the movie to come out on Redbox?

My Mother-in-law has a part time job as a movie theater usher & one of the best perks of her job is she can get her family tickets to the movies for free, if a show is not sold out.

I saw the Lego Movie about a week ago with my husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law – thanks to tickets from my Mother-in-law.

Before she got this job, I used AAA discounted passes, and/or looked for free screening passes.
