Cheap Weekend Events in Boston

There is a lot of fun and inexpensive things to do this weekend in the Greater Boston area! There are also a lot of trick-or-treating and Halloween events at malls and more this weekend.

However, I decided to keep this week’s cheap weekend fun post Halloween free, but you can find all Halloween events in Boston in this post. Please let me know if I missed any of your favorite events this weekend in the comments below.

19th Annual Boston Vegetarian Food Festival: October 25-26, 2014 at the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center. Enjoy educational exhibits, food samples, demos, and much more! Free and free parking.

Boston Book Festival: October 23-25, 2014 in Copley Square. Enjoy a festival that celebrates the culture of reading and ideas that enhance the city.

Free Cruise to Spectacle Island: Saturday, October 25, 2014 boarding at 9:30am. Enjoy a day at Spectacle Island. Free, but reservations are required.

Haunted Happenings in Salem: Fun events daily in Salem, MA. Salem has a lot of haunted happenings this October including a free movie night sponsored by Radio 92.9 every Saturday night. This week’s free movie night under the stars is Hocus Pocus.

Chocotoberfest at Taza Chocolate: Every Saturday in October from 1-4pm at Taza Chocolate in Somerville. Celebrate fall with a tasting of goodies! Free to attend.

Don’t forget you can also check out places to watch Patriots game and NFL games on a budget for ideas to cheer on the Pats this weekend if you won’t be at Gillette on Sunday.
