Cheap Weekend Fun

Congratulations if you are graduating this weekend! 🙂 Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend. A few of these events below have rain dates, so make sure to check to see if the event is still on or has been moved to the rain date. Fingers crossed for a beautiful weekend!

EarthFest 2014 (link has sound): Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the DCR Hatch Shell at 10AM to 5PM. Radio 92.9 annual free concert featuring Neon Trees, The Wailers, Smallpools and Morning Parade. Free and free swag too.

Le Grand Continental: May 16-18, 2014 at Copley Square. Enjoy this free community-wide, first-ever, outdoor dance extravaganza in the heart of Boston. Free and open to the public.

Franklin Park Kite & Bike Festival: Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 11-4pm. Enjoy a day at Franklin Park to fly a kite, picnic, rent a free bike and more. Kites will be on sale for a few dollars if you need one. Free.

Revere Beach Kite Festival: Sunday, May 17, 2014. Enjoy a day of kite flying and fun at this annual kite festival. The first 300 kids under age 12 will receive a free kite!

PorchFest: Saturday, May 17, 2014 on porches (and more) in Somerville from 12-6pm. Musicians will hit their porches all over Somerville to perform for you in this fun community event. Free.

Visit Nova Scotia: May 17-18, 2014. Nova Scotia is coming to Boston this weekend with a lot of fun activities and a chance to win Red Sox Tickets and/or win a trip to Nova Scotia on the new Nova Star cruise ferry!

Free Sailing Open House: Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 1-4pm. Boston Sailing Center is offering free sails on Boston Harbor on Saturday afternoon.

#SundayRunday 2: Sunday, May 18th, 2014 at 11am starting at Park Street. Join Runkeeper and local runners for a run around Boston with different courses for different lengths.

Harvard Museum of Natural History: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency.

Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Also, this is the last weekend of the Jordan’s Monster Repeat, so if you think the Red Sox will win the World Series this year, make sure to stop by Jordan’s.

This is also the last weekend of the Shaw’s Monolopy game with it ending on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Last time my store ran out of tickets before the last day but the time before they were doubling and tripling tickets in the last week– so make sure to redeem those free ticket coupons soon if you’ve got them and check for rare game pieces!
