Cheap Weekend Fun

Happy Thanksgiving! The Cheap Weekend Fun post is up a day early because I won’t be blogging or posting tomorrow and I hope you have a chance to plan your weekend a little early too!

If you are participating in Black Friday on 11/29/13, check out this post here for all the Black Friday hours just for Massachusetts. They are a little different than the rest of the nation due to blue laws.

Also, Meter Parking in Boston is actually free from Thursday, November 29, 2013 to Sunday, December 1, 2013 due to holiday parking and a city incentive, so please don’t pay any meters this weekend! Check back here on the blog Friday for more information!

Here’s some fun and affordable things to do for this extra long holiday weekend:

Half-Off Admission at Zoo New England: Friday, November 29, 2013 from 10am-4pm at Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo. Forget Black Friday and enjoy a day with the family at the Zoo with half-price admission.

BostonTweet’s Black Friday Scavenger Hunt: Friday, November 29, 2013 from 10am-5pm. BostonTweet will be hiding thirty $100 envelopes in the Back Bay compliments of Capital One 360 Cafes. Keep an eye out for these envelopes to win some cash for holiday shopping.

Downtown Macy’s 2013 Tree Lighting: Friday, November 29, 2013 at 4pm at Macy’s Downtown Crossing. Enjoy special performances by various musical acts as well as a special appearance by Santa Claus to help light the tree.

Downtown  Boston Holiday Market 2013: Starting, November 30, 2013 through December 28, 2013 at Summer Street Plaza. Enjoy the 5th Annual Holiday Market with artisan vendors and local entertainment.

Enchanted Village: November 16, 2013-January 5, 2013 at Jordan’s Furniture in Avon. The Enchanted Village is up and running for the season so come relive childhood memories! Free.

ICA: Saturday, November 30, 2013. The ICA is free for families the last Saturday of every month, except December.

Please let me know in the comments if I missed any fun and free events in the Greater Boston area. I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hanukkah!
