Free Fridays Events for July 20, 2012

As I mentioned last week, Fridays in Boston are free and fun all summer long. This week, once again Highland Street Foundation is offering free admission to great attractions all around Massachusetts.

For this Friday, July 20th:

  • Buttonwood Park Zoo
  • Mass Audubon Visual Arts Center
  • Hancock Shaker Village
  • Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum
  • Higgins Amory Museum

Also, the Parks Department is hosting free fishing Fridays at Jamaica Pond for the month of July from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. No license is required for children under 15, but everyone else must have a fishing license. For more about this program, please go here.

In addition to free attractions & free fishing, there are also free film screenings in the city. There are Free Friday Flicks at the Hatch Shell sponsored by WBZ and DCR. The movie for this week is The Muppets! Also, the Boston Harbor Hotel is offering free films by the sea. This week they are showing On the Waterfront. Both movies start at sundown.

What Free Friday events are you taking advantage of?! Enjoy!

Free Haircut for Kids’ all August!

Make your appointments now! J.C.Penney is offering children in kindergarten to 6th grade a FREE haircut during the month of August! Appointments are limited, so consider calling now for an appointment! I’ve heard that as long as you have children that meet the age criteria, they are not limiting to one per household, which is great if you have a few little ones!

The closest J.C. Penney Salon is Natick, and they are participating! If Natick isn’t your closest store, please click here to find your location.

Thanks, Coupon Katie!

Free Showing of Zookeeper Tonight at the Pru South Garden!

Magic 106.7 is hosting its annual Film Festival this summer in the Prudential Center South Garden every Saturday! Since the movie is outside after sunset, the Zookeeper was postponed from past weekend and is rescheduled for TODAY, Wednesday, July 11, 2012! The fun starts at 6 p.m. but the movie starts right after sundown.

Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit sponsor that will be collecting new and gently-used children’s clothes as well as new arts and craft supplies at the movie. If your tight on money, but would love to donate, back to school sales have already started. For instance, you can grab crayons and more at Staples this week for a penny, which would make a great donation item for Cradles to Crayons!

For more information about the event tonight, please go here.
