If you have not heard, Amazon Prime is increasing the yearly subscription from $79 to $99 a year starting on April 17, 2014. However, you do need to lock in the $79 rate today, March 19, 2014!

If you are currently not an Amazon Prime holder but would like to lock into the $79 rate today is the last day to get a free 30-day trial and the lower rate. Head here for more information or to sign-up!

If you are currently an Amazon Prime holder and would like to keep your $79 rate, you can Give the Gift of Prime to yourself.Amazon Prime Increases Price (Lock in $79 Rate)

This is a little loophole to stay with the lower price for existing members, but it does not work for Amazon Student though 🙁

I currently have an Amazon account and use it mostly for the two-day shipping. I tend to buy a lot of gifts and other purchases through Amazon, so for me Amazon Prime is a good fit. I also get free streaming through Amazon Instant Video; however, the free movie selection (in my opinion) isn’t too exciting since it tends to be older or no name movies.

Do you have an Amazon Prime account? Do you plan on renewing to the higher rate?
