Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup: Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 9am-12pm. Volunteer for the 15th Annual Earth Day cleanup and make a difference alongside the Charles River!

Free Sailing Open House: Saturday, April 26, 2014 & Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1-5pm at Lewis Wharf. Boston Sailing Center is offering free sails on Boston Harbor this weekend.

Cambridge Open Studios: April 26-27, 2014 from 12-6pm each day. Explore and discover local art in Cambridge during this Open Studios.

Brookline Open Studios: April 26-27, 2014 from 12-6pm. Explore and discover local art from local artists in Brookline.

MIT Museum: Sunday, April 27, 2014. The MIT Museum is free the last Sunday of every month during the academic year.

ICA: Saturday, April 26, 2014. The ICA is free for families (with children under 12) the last Saturday of every month, except December.

Free Outdoor Bootcamp: Sunday, April 27, 2014 at City Sports in Porter Square at 10am. Enjoy a free outdoor bootcamp class for one hour, please RSVP in advance.

Black Mass Open Casting Call: Saturday & Sunday, April 12-13, 2014 from 1-6pm at 180 Mount Vernon in Dorchester. Producers are looking for people of all ages and ethnicities to represent Boston in the 1970′s and 1980′s for an upcoming movie Black Mass that tells the James “Whitey” Bulger story, which stars Johnny Depp.

Sports Illustrated Cover Shoot: Saturday, Aril 12, 2014 at 7am near the Boston Marathon Finish Line. Show your Boston Pride and be part of the Sports Illustrated cover shoot on Saturday morning.

Boston National Poetry Month Festival: April 10-13, 2014 at the Boston Public Library, Copley. Enjoy this 14th Annual Festival with readings from emerging poets and more. Free.

Phillips Candy House Annual Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 11-4pm at Pope John Paul II Park. Phillips Candy House is sponsoring the 22nd Annual Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Spring Egg Scramble with 10,000 toy-filled eggs. The Easter Bunny will make a guest appearance from 2-4pm. Free.

Guac Off: Sunday, April 13th from 3-5pm at the Painted Burro in Somerville. The deadline to submit your fabulous guac recipe has past but you can still cheer on the local participants!

I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for the first weekend of April– especially since this is the first weekend of Red Sox baseball at home! Spring is in the air!

April Book Sale: Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Boston Public Library. Head to the main branch of BPL in Copley Square for a book sale where most books will be $1-2! (Credit and debit cards are accepted).

Craftboston Spring: April 4-6, 2014 at Cyclorama in the South End. Check out hand-made goodies at Craftboston. General Admission is $15, but if you show the (free) Yelp Mobile App downloaded on your phone, the first 500 yelp users will receive free admission.

Bank of America’s Museum on Us Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, 2014. Bank of America & Merrill Lynch cardholders can get into select museums the first weekend of every month for free by showing their bank card (per cardholder, not family). Museum of Fine Arts, MIT Museum and other museums across the state participate.

*Note Update: Kid Price Saturday at Franklin Zoo: Pay and feel like a kid the first Saturday of every month at Franklin Park Zoo between 10 a.m. & noon for just $11.95. Head to Stoneham, MA to the Stone Zoo between 10am-12pm and pay $6.95 for admission.

Taste of Iceland: March 14-18, 2014 throughout Boston. Get a taste of what Iceland is like at this 5-day event highlighting Iceland’s food and music. Many events are free and you can find all events here.

Comedian Sinbad at the Wilbur: Friday, March 7, 2014. Kick off the weekend at the Wilbur Theatre with Sinbad! Tickets are $45, but Goldstar Boston (affiliate) has tickets for $11.43 + ticket fees!
