Roxbury Open Studios: October 4-6, 2013 across Roxbury. Check out this annual open studios event in Roxbury and enjoy various visual arts from artists across Roxbury! Free.

Let’s Talk About Food Festival: Saturday, October 5, 2013 starting at 10am at Copley Square. Let’s talk about food with activities, education, and fun for all ages. Free.

Boston Local Food Festival: Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 11am-5pm on the Greenway. Join the Sustainable Business Network for the nation’s largest local & sustainable food hub. Free.

Girlswap at the SoWa: Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 12-4pm at 460 Harrison Ave (look for the tent with balloons). Ladies, swap your clothes at the SoWa Open Market on Sunday– get a new wardrobe for free! Sorting starts at 11am, and swapping begins at 12pm.

Oficio Fashio Bazaar: Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 11-5pm at 30 Newbury Street, 3rd Floor. A one day pop-up shop on Newbury Street with unique independent designers. Free and open to the public.

Bank of America’s Museum on Us Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6, 2013. Bank of America & Merrill Lynch cardholders can get into select museums the first weekend of every month for free by showing their bank card (per cardholder, not family). Museum of Fine Arts, MIT Museum and other museums across the state participate.

Kid Price Saturday at Franklin Zoo: Saturday, October 5, 2013. Pay and feel like a kid the first Saturday of every month at Franklin Park Zoo between 10 a.m. & noon for just $11. Head to Stoneham, MA to the Stone Zoo between 10am-12pm and pay $10 for admission

Play Me, I’m Yours: Street Pianos Boston Festival: September 27, 2013- October 14, 2013 located around public spaces in Boston, Cambridge and Brookline. There will be 75 pianos across Boston to play and enjoy in the upcoming weeks. Keep and eye out and play your heart out! Free.

As you are aware, some affordable and great attractions in and around the city are currently shutdown. The Boston Harbor Islands is still open until October 14, 2013 as well as the ferry service. I have two more free ferry vouchers to give away to use before the end of the season (October 14, 2013). What the Fluff? Fluff Festival: Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 3-7pm in Union Square, Somerville. Join the tribute to the delicious Union Square invention– fluff with cooking contests, music, games, and more! Free.

American Field Pop-Up Market: September 28-29, 2013 from 10am-6pm at 540 Harrison Ave, South End. Check out this cool pop-up market that features and sells all USA Made products! Free admission.

Boston Seafood Festival: Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 11am to 10pm at the Bank of America Pavilion. Enjoy cooking demonstrations, oyster shucking contest, music, children activities, and more at this 2nd annual festival. Tickets are $10, and does not include food (limited free samples).

Single Volunteers Boston: Saturday’s Bread: Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 12:30-4:30pm at 35 Bowdoin Street, Boston. Volunteer to feed the hungry and meet other local single volunteers. Free.

Revolution College Night: Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Gillette Stadium. College students, cheer on the New England Revolution at College Night! Tickets are $15 and include game tickets, pregame tailgate party, free food, and more!

MICE 2013: September 28-29, 2013 at University Hall at Lesley University. MICE stands for Massachusetts Independent Comic Expo and showcases the best of local comics! Panel, workshops, and exhibition are all free and open to the public and Sunday is kids day.

Hyde Park Open Studios: Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 11-5pm at studios across Hyde Park. Meet with local artists at their studios and enjoy beautiful art. Free.

Institute of Contemporary Art Boston: Saturday, September 28, 2013. The ICA Boston is free the last Saturday of every month for families, which is this Saturday!

Smithsonian Magazine Free Museum Day: Saturday, 28, 2013 at participating museums nationwide. Request your free pass to free entry to museums across Massachusetts and the nation! Free, but request your pass.

Free Park Day: Saturday, September 28, 2013 at National Parks across the country. Due to National Public Lands Day on Saturday, admission to National Parks are free. Get outside and enjoy a public park to celebrate!

Jamaica Plain Open Studios: Saturday, September 21 & Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 11-6pm throughout Jamaica Plain. Meet artists, browse art and have a great time at the Jamaica Plain Open Studios this weekend.

Allston Village Street Fair: Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 12-6pm in Allston. The Street Fair is a multi-cultural festival celebrating the diversity of Allston-Brighton Residents with music, international foods, family entertainment, and much more! Free and open to the public.

HaborArts Festival 2013: Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 12-7pm at the HarborArts Shipyard Gallery (256 Marginal St, East Boston). The festival celebrates the anniversary of the gallery’s opening three years ago with great artwork, food, fun, and more! Free but donations are accepted.

 Jazz-in-the-Yard: Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 12-5pm at the Jackson Homestead in Newton. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets for a day of jazz! Free and open to the public.

Riverfest 2013: Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 11-8pm in Somerville. Riverfest will be right at Assembly Row with live music, local artists, food trucks, and more. Free.

Shellfish Shindig: Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 2-4pm at Legal Sea Foods in Charles Square. Celebrate Legal’s Oyster Celebration with $1 Oysters. First come, first serve.
